Gl Db Gd Ch Paju Kilubaba - Maxine - Funnylittlebug

"GOLD DB GD CH PAJU KILUBABA - Maxine - Funnylittlebug .... 14.3.04 - 8.4.10 - too short a time on earth, but why must perfection move on"  .... we will always love you, Maxine.   xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox

Yesterday, Thursday 8 April, 2010, Funnylittlebug gained her wings and crossed the Rainbow Bridge to join her family and friends who've gone before, leaving her human mum and dad in shock and feeling so devastated at her sudden passing.

We wish to keep her LJ up so we can come to it and remember all the funny things she did (and "said").  We've been slack in the updates since October 08, but life has been hectic and although FLB was normally in the thick of things, "she" didn't get much time to update here.  Her life for the past 18 months had been good as usual, full of "catty things" to do - FLB continued to go to shows and enjoyed her outings ... she has two daughters surviving her - one of whom, Mindy, is a Champion in her own right - Minx isn't a show kitteh.

However, Funnylittlebug's journal will not be updated ... she will remain here with her family in spirit, although her beauty has been dimmed but in our hearts, she will remain the beautiful little tawny Somali girl she always was and we will remember her.  Showing Mindy, keeping Minx away from the brekkie toast ... enjoying the company of Owy, Jackie and Zara (our last 3 Abys/Somalis) as we all travel a path to the unknown realms where Funnylittlebug waits for us, with Wally, Troi and all our other furkids.

At the moment, I am finding it difficult to write because the events of the past 24 hours are still so fresh in my mind .... our friend finding her collapsed in the house, rushing her to the vet surgery yesterday afternoon, the examination and the the final time we saw her alive - when she was taken out to be put on a drip and treated.  She came home this morning and here she will remain until the end of time ... her spirit  and her memory continuing to provide us with the essence of a beautiful little feline companion who loved us as much as we loved her.

Sadly,
FLB's human "mum and dad"

"We love you now and forever and wish we could bring you back from the Bridge .. until we meet again, when we will never be parted ..... :*( "

OMG, I haven't been on here since 21 July, 07 - when my daughter Mindy was born!  I have really been a very slack girl, haven't I?  :(  I have found that things have changed ... I haven't been able to reply to my friends' posts until I changed my DoB.  But hey, I'm a Somali and we aren't silly - so I got Mum to fix it up for me.  *wink*   I hope I can talk now ... prrrt, prrrt, prrrt.

OK, time's up for me tonight ... just filling in my past 12 months or more of what I've been up too.  Not a huge lot, admittedly, but I wanted to say "Hello" .. headbutts and prrrrrts,

Just thought that I'd say that Mum's given me some more to brag about - as I've now become a Gold DGC, she's put my photo on the profile of my LJ! Prrrt, prrrt, prrrt - it's the one where I am next door to the big Bengal, and I do look so good, I think! :)))

Anyway, fank mew Mum for this ... I do appreciate it. Now anyone who comes here can see just what I actually do look like, can't they? I hope they appreciate Natural Beauty when it hits 'em in the face ... *somali smirkles*!

I've had a very good show career and now ... I'm thru! Yay 4 Me!

Jun. 27th, 2007 | 10:32 pm
mood: happy happy

By saying "I'm thru"" means I'm not thru showing of course, but I'm thru my titles and am now GOLD DB GD CH PAJU KILUBABA, the first Paju Somali Gold DGC for Mum and Dad, who are thrilled to bits with my new title. Mum actually said that she wants a photo of me with the ribbon draped over my lovely little self, so I shall have to pose for her sometime, won't I? :)

It wasn't a bad day out at the Coffs Dual Show either - but unfortunately I didn't get into the Top 5 (and no prizes for sweet little me either - bummer) but my little mate, Owy Da Blowy, ended up doing Very.Well.Indeed with a Supreme Exhibit in Ring 1 and two CCCA certificates as well ... plus a couple of Best of Breeds (I got 4 of those as I was the only Somali adult there ... hehehehe), which meant that he brought home biscuits and litter and a huge bed as well! Very good - also, my "cousins" (the Feryls) did OK too with Snappy getting 2 Best in Shows and 1 Best Exhibit (he also got a huge bed) ... we are still eating the bikkies and we love 'em. Yum, yum, yum ....

I also saw Aunty M again too, who was stewarding in our section, and I was very happy to see her and tell her what a great time I had when we visited her not too long ago. :) She was very pleased for Owy - gawd, we all were - and said to Mum that she was really happy to be able to give him the Big Prize too. LOL Fank Mew, Aunty M .. prrrt prrrt prrrt *somali happy dance*

Didn't get home until late as the Humans went out for dinner - we all just curled up in the back of the car, in our cages which were very cozy for us all *somali grins*, and went to sleep while they partied on. At least I didn't get carsick on the way home this time - I was woozy on the trip up, but I think it was because I was stuck on top of Owy's cage and could see where I was going ... urk, I didn't feel too hot when we arrived. Mum was panic-stricken, of course, in the vetting line-up but I passed muster .... thankfully for that, as I'd have still been waiting for my much longed for title! :)

This is a quick entry for me .... I'm in deep doo-doo again, but Mum explained why. Oh dear, I think she'll be threatening to send me to a nunnery soon, if I don't learn to behave myself! *somali smirkles*

ETA: I've backdated this entry as I have been very busy .... LOL. Aren't I a clever little Bug??

It's been very, very cold lately so please take my advice and keep all pussies nice and warm ... the temps have been so low, that we all have icicles on our fur and we don't like that one bit!

Show Day! Part 2 ... Big Al and The Fluffies ... and afterwards

Jun. 5th, 2007 | 03:34 am
mood: still a sleepy little kitty still a sleepy little kitty

Meet Big Al - he's a very large sized Abyssinian neuter - he had a good day too and joined the 5 Club with Owy and I ... getting a 5th in show as well.  Plus his challenges ... so his Mum, Aunty L, was very pleased with him.

Al's a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig cat - so big in fact, that he had to have a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig cage and ended up with his own table!  Under the cut, you will find some photos of Al - being judged, in his cage and on his table ... plus showing what a sweetheart he really is.  I like Big Al ... :)

Unfortunately, Mum didn't get around to take any photos of Aunty L's fluffies or The Chicken at the show, but Aunty L was over the moon but also worried that people were NOT HAPPY with her (she also judged the companions and did that well - as did Dad .. he actually had some compliments on his judging ... gooooooo, Dad!) because her Fluffies did very, very well indeed!!!!

Valentine - a black persian spay lady who is also Kempsey born 'n' bred - won 2 Best in Shows for herself and Aly, the blue exotic lady, took home one as well as a 3rd in Show too.  Hmmm, perhaps it's something in the water here to make these Group 1's do so well on the bench - but still, they looked lovely and were very deserving of their wins!  OMG, did The Funny Little Bug just say that!!!!!  Ohnoes!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111eleventyone ..... :D :D

Seriously tho, they looked good and richly deserved what they won ... BB - who is an orange-eyed white persian neuter - also had a good day, although no BIS's came his way, that I know of, but he did his best and Aunty L is quite happy with her results and reckons that it was well worth it to have a weekend break in Queensland.  Dunno about the locals tho ... hehehehe .... except ONE of course (*huggles* and *headbutts* to ya, Aunty M ... prrrt, prrrt, prrrt).  Chicken, Aunty M's little seal pt Birman, didn't do too badly either ... but I will let Aunty M have her glory there .... but con-cats to you too.  :)

OK, after the show was over, the humans had to pack it all up for something called "Bingo", whatever that is ... Aunty L said she didn't like it so I have no idea.  Obviously, it isn't food ... LOL!  We were all trundled out to the car about 3.30pm and there we sat - and sat - and sat - while everyone sorted themselves out.  Then it was time to go home ... Aunty L went with Aunty M and Mum and Dad went in our car, with us of course.  We thought we'd be home in an hour, but the fates had something else in store for us all .... oh dear!

We'd lost Aunties M and L at some lights down the road and so Mum said she knew the way - kind of - and with Dad's navigation skills, they ended up on the Gateway Motorway and all was well.  Until it got dark ... which is when stuff-ups happen naturally.  Mum was driving along, in the left lane and accidentally took a wrong turn, heading off somewhere where she didn't want to go!  We ended up in some place which was off the beaten track (or so they thought), so Mum pulled up at a servo and checked the map ... OK, go up the road and turn right, head west and then turn back onto the Gateway ..... yay, we're off again!  Dad had also gotten some directions from the servo guy and off we went again ... it's fun travelling with them - sometimes!

Ooops, away we were going when Mum said, "Oh $#!+, I think we're heading a bit too far" when she saw the sign reading "Ipswich 30km" - yeah, Mum, you stuffed riiiiiiiiiiiiight up there!  They'd paid an extra toll by this time and Dad was spewing - Mum wasn't too happy either - and when they got thru the last tollgate, they took a turnoff in the hopes of getting back home .... and they did.  I'll let Mum take up the story later, I think, as we were all in the back of the car, me on top and watching what was happening, and wondering WTF we actually were!  Yep, lost in the wilds of Queensland .... *somali smirkles once again*!!!

Finally back home and Dad wanted a beer .... but Mum said that "the cats have to be unpacked first", so we were all fixed up, given our dinner and then settled in for the night.  This time I was put in the cage with Owy as they were so tired that they didn't care - show was over, Mum reckoned she was spinning out (whatever that means!), Dad was tired and just wanted a medicinal ale and both Aunties M and L said they were worried about us because we hadn't gotten home when we should have!  However, they said that they'd also gotten lost too ... LOL.

Well, in summing up, the weekend was an outstanding success and everyone was happy ... but it was sad to leave Aunty M, who I will see in 3 weeks time!  Yippeeeeeeeeeeeee .... it will be good to see you again, Aunty M, and I'll give you another headbutt too.  ;)  We had a nice trip home as well, and it was good to be back, because I could tell everyone all the gossip and let them know what they'd missed out on ... Miss Lucy has said that she was complimented on her lovely temperament and she reckons she'll bop anyone who disagrees - she's like that, our Miss Lucy!!!

Well, that's me for the night as my little paws are getting tired from all this typing-malarkey, so I'm off to bed now for a well deserved sleep!  Nighty-night .... *yawn*

love a sleepy little MM

PS - enjoy the piccies here and in my last post too.  :))

Show Day! Part 1 ... me and the other guys in my bay

Jun. 5th, 2007 | 02:56 am
mood: happy happy

Continuing on from my last post ..... a few show pix under the cut, so could take a little time to load.  Just a warning ..... prrrt, prrrt, prrrt!

Sunday dawned bright and clear, a little bit cold for me but oh well, and we were all sorted out, then bundled back into our carry cages and into the car - we were off to our first Queensland show (except for Owy, Valentine and Ali, who have been up before)!!!  Oooh, I was excited, I was, as I also got to meet my human grandmother, Camille, who said a lot of nice things about Beautiful, Sweet Little Me.  Yes, I sooked up to her too ... I'm a good Little Bug that way.  *wink*

The set-up was very different to what I am used to - we had pretty coloured curtains (mine were electric pink, I'd say you would call them) in our cages, we were benched a little differently so I was next door to a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge Bengal boy who I was talking to, but he was a bit cheesed at me because I was playing music on my cage (it was a metal one, ooooh what fun!) and told me to keep quiet, and the bay was a little smaller to what I'm used to (at Kempsey show, it was long and narrow ... this one was nice n cosy).  However, the judging was similar and I made sure I looked good ... Mum was grooming me to the nth degree of course ... so when that was all over, I sat in my cage like a good little Bug should and waited for the judges to come and pick me.  Hehehehehe

OK, my results - I got all 4 challenges which is good because I now have less than 30 points for my Gold DGC title (Go Me!) and also gained 5th in Show in the third ring (which was judged first ... hehehe), so paws crossed for the next one in a fortnight!  I was taken out by Mum, who was stewarding, and behaved myself very well - acting like a good little Somali should and showing myself off to everyone.  Aunty L was sitting, watching, while all this was going on as she also had Blue in the ring, and she was grinning when it was announced I got 5th.  I beat Blue (8th) and Lucy (9th), but I was good and didn't stick my tongue out at them ....

Next ring I bombed out completely, but Owy Da Blowy did well with a 5th in Show!  He also got his challenge in that ring too - but missed out in the others as he had competition.  He didn't mind as he's such a laid back lad .... he said at least he got one and that's what mattered to him.  Miss Lucy, little Tina (who's a total novice at this as she's never been shown before) and Blue also got their challenges in all the rings too so we were a very happy little band of kitties.  :)))

Last ring - I also bombed out ... only got one placing in the Top 10, but not to worry as that made me a happy Little Bug and it was nice to sit there and get attention anyway.  Under the cut are some piccies of us ....

I really enjoyed my day out as did the rest of the crew and we all want to say Fank Mew to Aunty M and her team for a wonderful day for all felines present and their humans.  You all did a great job as far as we can see and the weather even behaved itself, although it did rain during the afternoon, but it was good when we were taken out of the hall and put in the car.  Which we like ... we are cats - we don't like getting wet, do we?  ;)

Well, I will post about Big Al and his table next ... plus the fluffy crew, who really did very well indeed.  Aunty L's head is still in the clouds ... con-cat-ulations to Aunty L too.  Prrrt, prrrt, prrrt and lotsa Somali headbutts ......

Must continue on,

love MM

I has been Interstate, I has!

Jun. 5th, 2007 | 02:28 am
mood: sleepy little kitty sleepy little kitty

I have been a very busy Little Bug as I've been away on holidays - well, not really, but it sounds good, doesn't it?  A pile of us went up to Brisvegas (Mum said it's BrisBANE, not Brisvegas, but I'm digressing, aren't I?) this weekend and we had a complete ball!!!  Yes, we went to a show up there and had a lovely time with Aunty M, who looked after both human and feline travellers very well - thank you, Aunty M, prrrt, prrrt, prrrt and a special PRRRT to a little blue point lady who I met too .. you know who you are.  ;)

OK, first things first - we left here on Saturday morning around 11am and hoped to be up in Brisbane before dark, but unfortunately the weather was against us all and it was looking pretty dirty up north around the 4pm mark.  Mum was on the phone to Aunty M, who said they'd just had some really bad weather hit (i.e it was pissing down with rain!) where she was and warned Mum that we may run into bad weather ourselves.  It was sunny and quite warm where we were - in a place called, get this *snigger*, Sleepy Hollow - where the humans had pulled up for a "pit stop" (to be polite).

I'm getting away from myself tho - we left home and had no problems at all until we were up near Coffs Harbour, where there's huge roadworks happening and Dad had to slow down to a crawl .... while Mum took photos of all the goings on.  She's been doing this since they started and has photos of it all ... I must say, it looked like a gigantic litter tray to me!  Even have things that will cover up "stuff" *somali smirkles* ... I like that idea, I do!  ;)

Well, no problems at all travelling until we got near a place called Bangalow which is a looooooooooong way from here - some idiot (I can't say what Mum and Dad said ...) was overtaking a line of cars, Mum saw him and yelled out "watch out for the *&%# coming" and Dad slowed right down, taking evasive action (I was told that was what it was) and then they both flipped this idiot the finger - Mum reckoned she put her arm out!  Oh dear ... we were very lucky and I am sure that "Aggy" the car is looking after us.  :)  Anyway, after that, we just kept on going until the aforementioned stop at Sleepy Hollow, until we pulled up at a place called the Gold Coast for more petrol - Mum was driving and she was determined to get to the same servo that she'd been before.  She's like that ... hahahaha.

The trip to Aunty M's was terrific - I was in my travel cage and sitting on top of Owy Da Blow and Lucy, so I saw everything naturally - and we had no problems finding our way there at all.  Yay for Mum .... she navigated thru the city pretty well on Saturday afternoon.  When we got there, Aunty M was home from setting up the show and so we were all unpacked and settled down for the night .....

Except me ....... photos under the cut .....

We were all eventually settled down for the night - Miss Lucy and little Choccy Frog (aka Tina) being put into one of Aunty M's cages (to my right in these photos) and so was Owy, because he tore his tent and got out, the bugger! - and had our dinner after the long trip up, then we went to sleep .... only to be woken up by raucous laughter from above us.  Yes, our family was partying upstairs ... humans are funny at times.  They should have all gone to bed when we did - WE had a show to go to in the morning, didn't we?

Anyway, that was Saturday and although most of my friends were in the back of the car, they all agreed that it was a nice trip away and a good break from the "same old, same old" and they enjoyed themselves immensely!  Even BB, who always looks so bloody serious ... *somali smirkles* .... and little Blue, the Siamese, who sat there all night saying OM (he must be a Buddhist or something .. haha) enjoyed himself too, although he did spend the weekend with Big Al!

It was lovely and warm too - I like that pleasant weather and we had the sun on ourselves during the day as well - so yes, I must say on behalf of the Furry Ones, THANK YOU AUNTY M for a great time!  *SOMALI HUGGLES*

I'll write about the show seperately, I think .... ;)

Mum's gone mental!

May. 3rd, 2007 | 12:06 am
mood: amused amused

I don't know what has happened to Mum lately, but she's gone crazeeeeeeeeeeeeee with the cleaning up around here!  We have all been sitting in the kitchen this week, minding our own business and watching her closely, just in case she hurts herself.  She got a heap of all kinds of interesting stuff out of a cupboard and when we walked over to see, she'd tell us to bugger off as she had a sink full of hot water and soap, with the stuff in it.  Of course, I had to go and check it all out and the best place to do that of course, is on Mum's shoulder.  Hahaha, that stopped all work as she said that she couldn't move with Little Sweet Me on board, so that meant I could make her have a breather ... ;)  I'm not silly, am I?

That was OK as it was Sunday that this all happened - then Dad came home and they put all the Interesting Stuff into a couple of big boxes so we couldn't play with them all.  Hmm, don't know why but I heard Mum say she'd washed everything up, dried it and didn't want US to make it all grotty again - as if we would do that!!!  Prrrrt, prrrrt, prrrrt ... no, we wouldn't .... or .... would we?

Anyway, the past three days have been "interesting" ... Mum started on the counter top in the corner and was scrubbing away quite happily, finished it all and when she stood back to admire her work, a couple of the Asian Purr-suasion decided to go and check it all out.  They were told very quickly to "go to buggery" ... they did, but then this morning when Mum got up, she found a pile of them all curled up in the "nice, clean corner" ..... she gave up then.  I, on the other hand, was in my pen with the bub (sadly, the little girl didn't make it - yes, I am sad about that - but the little bloke's doing OK) and was quite cozy ... also had an advantage as I could see everything that was going on.  Hahaha .... after Mum woke up and had her usual breakfast, she got into it again!!!!!!

Aunty LL was outside getting some of my fur-pals ready for a show on the weekend, so Mum went out and then, came back and made yet more coffee .... I was allowed out for the daily scamper of course and had to go and check out the AP's new "bedroom".  Hmm, yes, quite good - it looked OK until Mum got the fan and put THAT in the corner - none of us would go near it then, except for "Ren" the blue exotic, who acts like he's a bit silly at times.  Every single time he was told to get off, he'd just sit there and look dumb - he still can't understand why he gets picked up and put on the floor with a loud "NO" from Mum when he walks along the sink, naturally full of hot water.  Dopey cat ... prrrrt, prrrrt, prrrrt ... *Somali Smirkles* at his expense.

However, I also got into trouble today ... Mum had the microwave oven open to clean it out and of course, like any fantabulous feline, Sweet Little Me just had to investigate.  It looked very interesting so I climbed inside to see what was there and then Mum told me to "get out of that bloody microwave, Maxine!"  Oh dear, she used my name ... I knew I was in strife, but also knew I wouldn't be punished.  I mean, she didn't close the door on me, did she?  *smirkles again*  I know it's used for cooking food, but there was nothing there that I could see or smell, so I did come out - only when I was good and ready though.  Just a box - a white box with holes in it - as far as I could see ... not too interesting to a fantabulous feline anyway.  Mum did say that she wished she had the camera handy tho as I looked so cute curled up in the thing .... hmmmmm, I must say I am glad she didn't have it handy!!!!!   ;)

Sooooooooooooo, the upshot of all this is that the kitchen counters look like new - the whole place is tidy for once - and Mum's totally knackered.  We are all very pleased with her efforts too .... and we've all promised not to make a big mess again with our food etc - but how long that promise will be kept is our business, nobody else's!  We ARE cats, y'know.  :)))))))

I've been busy myself with the kid - he's definitely chocolate tabby and a cute little boy ... have no idea of what he'll be named, but Mum was stuffing around and called them "Maximus" and "Minimus" for some reason, so I'm thinking that my little bloke will end up being called "Maximus" now.  Hahaha - it does suit him but we shall see what happens in the future.  My mate, Catanak, is also busy with her mob (3 of them, little Asian Purr-suasions) and she reckons that it's murder .... she always yells to be allowed out and when she is let out of her pen, she sits up on top, with the 3 little hooligans yelling their heads off in Balinese at her!  Hmmm, obviously no manners in that camp, is there?

Well, I'm off to bed now - it's late and past midnight.  Already the Month of May, I notice so where is the year going?  I think I shall be out and about in June now but again, we shall see what we shall see.  I do miss the shows of course and the gossip, but still, I have to think about little Maximus too, don't I?

Night now - and as it's getting cooler at night, please remember to make sure your pussies are nice and warm.  We love being warm!

love MM
